Flame & Fable Society
Candle Safety & Other
Luxurious Precautions
A sanctuary for those who burn with intention. And a guide for those who prefer their flames well-behaved.
Welcome, dear flame lover.
Whether your candle is flickering in a gilded bathroom, smouldering on a writing desk, or commanding presence on an altar of intention, this guide is your invitation to burn beautifully.
Consider it your whispered set of secrets from one candle devotee to another. Because burning a candle is more than just lighting a wick, it’s the summoning of a mood. And darling, we want that mood to be delicious, not disastrous.
The Golden Rules of
Flame & Fable
Trim your wick – always to 6mm (¼ inch). No one likes a smoky scandal.
45-minute max burn – candles need breathers too, you know.
Mind the setting – no curtains, no wobble, no mischief.
Use a heatproof tray – ideally one that’s as pretty as your candle.
No draughts – even a rebellious breeze can spell trouble.
No paws, no play – keep away from pets, children, and the clumsy.
Extinguish with grace – snuff, don’t blow (you’ll thank us later).
“A candle misused is still better than bad lighting… but let’s aim for neither.”

To Burn or Not to Burn? That is the Question.
Some candles are made to glow. Others, to pose.
Within The Flame & Fable Society, we honour both. Our ritual candles are blended, wicked, and tested for safe, even burning. Our sculptural pieces - the objet d’art - are best admired, not ignited.
Should you wish to burn them, do so only on a heatproof surface, and with the full awareness that beauty sometimes gets messy!
Let’s Talk Candle Bloom
That silken, frosted blush on your beeswax? That’s bloom. A natural sign of purity, not a flaw. Beeswax is a living material - it remembers, it shifts, it speaks. That is why we adore it like we do.
If you prefer a polished look, gently buff it with a soft cloth and it will gleam brilliantly. Or simply leave it - some of us like our wax a little wild.
