Why meditation?

Meditation is a practice, a tool that can help us to connect fully back to ourselves, mind, body and soul. It’s also the practice that is the heart of everything that I do. Learning how to sit with myself. To hear myself. To feel all of my feelings and to see my triggers, actions and behaviours allowed me a deep awareness that I have been unable to get anywhere else. You may have seen that I’ve made the comment that I am the last person that you’d expect is a lover of meditation and a big reason for this is it has taken me years to be able to sit with myself. I was a do’er. I would wrap myself in busy’ness like it was a coat of armour. I was a numb’er. I avoided being with myself at all cost.

Meditation helps us to rediscover the true nature of things, to rediscover our true nature. Learning how to cultivate a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, triggers even and peel back the layers of anxious and worried thoughts. Of self-doubt and low self-worth allows us to come home to our true self. With regular practice, meditation can heal many wounds, open us up for profoundly peaceful moment, increase energy and help us to navigate life with a little more ease.

I have a deep love of Awareness Insight Meditation (AIM). It’s what led me on a journey back to me, to love, to gratitude and as the name implies, to knowing myself again. This is so powerful because when you know and like yourself, then you can go on to do things you never thought possible. My guided meditations and my teaching include AIM, self-love, deep rest, gratitude, kindness, nature, insight, and mindful walks. I teach what I do and what I’ve come to love. An Introduction to Meditation

Think of this as a virtual mini retreat, but one that you can do in your own time. Over 7 days you’ll get a explore what it means to meditate. I’ll introduce you to Awareness Insight Meditation, what it means to sit with your thoughts, emotions and other meditation techniques like walking meditation, using compassion and gratitude. I’ll talk you through creating a space for your practice, how to get comfortable in your practice and how to create a practice that you love.

Awareness Insight - The Foundations

This is my signature course in meditation, a deep dive into developing a truly self-sufficient practice.
