Make it magic.

Rituals for me are what make any practice magic. Using simple tools that I love. Enhancing my senses to open my mind. Creating neural pathways that help me to move into this practice with ease.

Here are my go-to rituals that I use when I journal. Try the ones that call to you or experiment with the things that you love the most.

  • Use stationery that you love! Don’t use a half written in to-do list notepad. Make it special. I love:

    • An Organised Life

    • Father Rabbit

    • Beechmore Books

  • Your senses are incredibly powerful so make sure you use them. I truly believe that they are our super powers.

    • try a special candle, oil or incense (I love Bodha + Scent Australia)

    • Music can help you to time travel and give you inspiration when you thought there was none

    • Try food to write about. Closing your eyes and tasting a childhood favourite can do incredible things

  • Try a meditation before you journal. It’s an incredibly potent tool for getting yourself opened up and ready to tap into your inner thoughts.

  • Find a space that you would love to write in. Whether that is in nature, in a sunny spot in your home or perhaps a quiet space at work.

  • With all of these tips in mind, never wait it out for the perfect moment. It will never come. Instead, prioritise and make it happen. If this means letting the kids go a little rogue (I do regularly!) or leaving a chore then so be it. As with all things, know your intention and hold it like an anchor.
