3 DIY face masks for an at home spa date
Treat yo’self!
Ok, being in lockdown can be pretty tough but one of the unforeseen benefits for me has been the time to play around with my own face masks! Not being able to go to the shops or pick up things during errands has made me creative and it’s great!
I love me some skincare, it’s a bit of a passion and I’ve built it into my morning and evening rituals so that I don’t miss out. I will often slather on a face mask first thing in the morning as I meditate (the smells, the textures, it’s divine!) or if I didn’t have a chance I’ll swing it into my evening meditation, I’ll just use one that has a lovely evening wind down. Here are 3 of my fav’s.
An evening dream
Ingredients
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon coconut oil
¼ ripe avocado
2 drops of lavender oil
Ah, the smell of lavender is incredible for an evening wind down. It’s quite special combined with a meditation! Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until smooth velvety. Then apply to the face with your fingers or a face mask brush if you’re feeling a little fancy!
Hydration Nation
Ingredients
1/2 Avocado
1 tablespoon of honey
A handful of oats or oat bran
This is a lovely, hydrating mix. I love this one on a summer morning. Blitz ingredients in a blender to make super smooth and then apply to fresh, clean skin.
Even Dream
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of natural, plain yoghurt
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
This mask is a dream for evening out skin tone or soothing after a spot of sun! Mix all of the ingredients, making sure to fully blend the turmeric into the mixture.
The lowdown. Make sure that you use the masks the day that you mix them. Spot test on a patch of skin before using to make sure you don’t have a reaction to any of the ingredients. Wash completely after application. Add cucumber slices to the eyes to really make your spa treatment!
