HOW TO MANIFEST: USING PRACTICAL STEPS

Manifestation. It’s a whole thing, isn’t it! Do you find that it throws up a whole heap of feelings, thoughts and stories? We are intrigued by the concept of manifestation and there are hundreds of thousands of books and videos out there on it. It’s also a relatively misunderstood and often dismissed concept but it’s getting a revival. I love and use the concepts of manifestation on an almost daily basis - in fact, I have found that there is a wonderful link between mindfulness, meditation and manifestation. I think of manifestation as moving into alignment. Alignment of your values, your goals, your beliefs and your actions. If you are hitting 2023 with a stride and you are ready to move into alignment, then manifestation could be the perfect tool for you!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Manifestation isn’t a passive thing, there is no sitting back and waiting things to happen to you. It’s a practice introduce and enhancing awareness. Of becoming aware and stripping back of negative and unhelpful self-beliefs, so that you can actually look at yourself and your life and get clear on exactly who you want to be, what you want. It’s a stripping back of ego, of fear, of saying that you are enough and deserving enough of your hopes and dreams. Just like mindfulness, awareness is at the centre of a successful manifestation practice.

SOUNDS GREAT! SO WHAT DO I DO? HOW DO I GET STARTED?

  1. GET CLEAR: Start by taking some time, by yourself, to get clear on what it is exactly that you want. I love to kick this off with a meditation. Find a quiet space where you can sit, uninterrupted, take 3 - 5 big deep breaths, close your eyes and focus on how you want to feel. What does the best version of you look like? Sound like? What is it that this version of you does - your actions? Is it your career, your home, relationships or is it more about feeling? Do you want to feel powerful? Calm? In control? Are you trying to become an expert in your field? Performing at your best! Think about your goals, your dreams, your sense of self as being supported by endless energy and limitless possibilities. Without ego, without a need to prove yourself to anyone and based on what YOU want, not what you think you want or what others want for you. Who is this future you? Who do you want to be?

  2. DOCUMENT IT: Once it starts to become clear, write it all down. Grab a notebook and pen and put it all down on paper. Use the feelings that came up for you, the images that popped into your mind. Draw it if you wish. Start to map out this version of you, life life that you want to be living and the things that you are doing. Everything and anything can go down in your notebook - just remember, the only rule is that it needs to be from you and that you are honest with yourself.

  3. CREATE A VISION: It’s time for a vision board! I love these. You can make a physical one or a virtual one. Pick out images that support your notes. Get as specific as you can, again, being really honest with what you want. If any sneaky negative thoughts start to pop up, let them know this isn’t their time. This is a time of dreaming. Create a board that speaks to your heart and makes you excited for the future. I tend to make these 1-5 years max for my goals. You can come back to this and change anything that you need to.

  4. WONDERFULLY, AUTHENTICALLY, YOU!: So, who are you? What is important to you? What is your why? What are your values? Getting clear on who you are, the truest, most authentic version of you is key. I know that my experience has been that I constantly evolve. What was once important to me, how I once viewed my values is very different now compared to when I was in my 20’s, again when I had my first baby and then again when I had my second. We change but often don’t take the time to really notice how we have changed.

  5. UNBLOCK: Now, we are flexing that awareness muscle again. It’s time to get familiar with the beliefs and thoughts that are holding you back. As we grow up, we collect beliefs and there are beliefs that can come from us experiencing shame, fear, programming that create subconscious blocks. Unblocking is when we start to get familiar with these thoughts/feelings/beliefs and we start to create new neural pathways. Instead of feeling that we can do something, that we aren’t good enough or that we don’t deserve something, we start to see new possibilities. We enable ourselves to grow instead of shrink.

  6. GET YOUR TOOLS: Unblocking is no small thing, I teach all of my clients to get a toolbox of things that can help them on their manifestation journey. From writing it out (free-writing, using prompts) to using affirmations, meditation and other mindfulness tools. Get to know what works for you, what you enjoy and what you know you’ll come back to when you need it.

  7. AND ACTION!: Remember how I said that manifestation isn’t a passive thing? You need to start to take action. This is where you start to align yourself with who you are (your authentic self). Connecting your vision and goals (what you want to manifest) to the actions that you need to take to get you on the path to achieving them. If you map out your top 3-5 goals, what is 1 step you can take to move towards each of them? What’s the next step after that? Start to map out your path and take aligned action.

    When it comes to manifestation, taking aligned action is vital because this is where your subconscious beliefs take form in the real world through your behaviors. What this means, practically is where you would normally hold yourself back, because of those pesky beliefs, you step forward. You move out of your comfort zone and towards what it is that you are wanting to manifest.

    Perhaps this means saying no to things, or changing who you surround yourself with so that you can create space for the things that you want the most. So set your boundaries! Say no thanks! Step through fear! You’ve got this!
