We Are Making Some Changes

We have had a lot of action recently and it has been an amazing couple of years. Over this time we have learnt, grown and we’ve been listening, a LOT.

We I first started making candles, we were named Conscious Me. I was making them as part of my meditation and mindfulness teaching. I wanted to create candles that were a little different, that reminded me of moments in time and that were fun and colourful. That was over 6 years ago. Since then we have changed a few times. Conscious Me didn’t seem right, and many people that were buying the candles weren’t looking to meditate with them. They were for gifts, for entertaining, for dinner parties, for filling bowls and home decor.

When they were meditation candles, scent was hugely important as they tapped into the senses. I am also hugely passionate about scent and the effects that it has on the brain. So, we evolved into Scented Fable. Scent was still at the forefront. We noticed that the first thing that people would do is pick up a lemon candle, or an apple candle and take a big inhale. We sourced the finest fragrances and delved into the world of scent and wax. However, things continued to evolve. We kept listening and heard from more and more of you that you wanted your foodie shaped candles near your dinner table, in your kitchen, on your dining tables and with our mini candles, on your food. Scent was complicating things. It was clashing with food, wine and for those that were drenching their tables in foodie candles, it was becoming a problem. So we added candles that weren’t scented and that is what sold out time and time again.

With all of this new information, we started to focus on the unscented and stopped making the scented candles. However, with our name being Scented Fable, it started to create some confusion. Where these scented or unscented? I mean, the name says scented so surely they are? But they aren’t. So we are making another change and hopefully the last for a while! We are making a tweak and moving to Fable Candles. We are still making candles with a story, but not with the scent or confusion.

You will see this transition over the next few months but hopefully it’s not too confusing. I wanted to also say a massive thank you to everyone that has given their feedback, their thoughts and supported us. Last year was a massive year for us and it’s already shaping up with another huge year this year, and that is all down to you wonderful people.
