A SUPER FAST WAY TO SHIFT YOUR ENERGY
We all have those days. You know the ones where everything feels off kilter. Nothing is quite right and your energy? That’s way off track. We all need to recalibrate and shift our energy sometimes.
One of the best gifts that you can give yourself is the ability to recognise when you need some help to reset in the present moment.
Whether it’s a bad mood that day or weeks (even months) of having the wrong type of energy. Perhaps it is something specific that has triggered you, perhaps it’s nothing that you can quite put your finger on. It’s not always easy to shift your mood when you need to, however, this is a meditation that you can do in 3 minutes for a reset.
AN ENERGY SHIFTING MEDITATION
Start by getting seated and comfortable, ideally if you can have your spine supported and relaxed. If you feel comfortable, soften and close your eyes.
Now, take a deep breath in and out through your nose.
As you sit here in this moment, notice how you are feeling.
Notice the emotions. The feelings. The sensations that are the strongest with you right now.
Now, gently enquire with yourself, do you know why you are feeling these emotions - don’t judge them, just enquire. If the answer comes easily, acknowledge the reason, thank it and let it go by taking a long breath in and out of your nose, visualise yourself exhaling these thoughts as you go. If you are uncertain of why you are feeling like you are, that’s ok. Take that big deep breath and exhale those feelings, letting go of the tension that is sitting within you.
Next, take in 3 big deep breaths, in and out through your nose. Consider these cleansing breaths. Feel your nervous system start to relax and settle.
As you move into your third breath, place your hands over your heart and let your attention sit here too.
Take note of any feelings within that are not of your existing energy but from the energy of your heart. Perhaps you notice a feeling of ease, of compassion, of relief. Perhaps it is a feeling of neutrality and space. Notice the sensations that are here right now that are different to the ones earlier.
Keep your attention on these new feelings until you feel connected with this new energy.
When you are ready, gently and slowly open your eyes.
